Application Of Dichloromethane (DCM)Solvent Extraction In Medical Intermediates
2025-04-23
As the core solvent for the extraction of pharmaceutical intermediates, dichloromethane (DCM) has the advantages of strong solubility and moderate boiling point. However, the traditional process generally has problems such as high solvent residue (>500ppm), low separation efficiency (single-stage extraction rate <85%), and severe emulsification. The LC series centrifugal extractor successfully solves industry problems through centrifugal field enhanced mass transfer technology and intelligent process control, and achieves technological breakthroughs in the production of cephalosporin and quinolone intermediates.
1. Ultra-gravity field enhanced separation: The equipment adopts a three-stage countercurrent extraction design. Under the action of 2000-3000G centrifugal force, the contact time of the two phases is shortened to within 15 seconds, which is 5 times higher than the traditional static stratification efficiency. The mixing-clarification dual-zone structure customized for the characteristics of the DCM-water system reduces the mass transfer unit height (HTU) to below 30cm, and the stage efficiency is stabilized at 92%-95%.
2. Safety explosion-proof system: Integrated ExdIIBT4 explosion-proof certified motor, nitrogen sealing protection system and solvent concentration online monitoring module to ensure VOCs emission concentration <50mg/m³,
in line with the "Pharmaceutical Industry Air Pollutant Emission Standard" (GB 37823-2019). 3. Comparison of actual application data A case study of a listed pharmaceutical company's cefixime intermediate project shows:
Extraction efficiency: Under the three-stage countercurrent process, the target yield increased from 82% of the traditional process to 96.5%, and the solvent loss was reduced by 42%;
Product quality: Organic residue (DCM) dropped to below 80ppm,
meeting ICH Q3C requirements; Economic benefits: The annual processing capacity of the production line is 5,000 tons, and the solvent recovery system saves more than 3 million yuan in costs each year.
